Labia enhancement
Labioplasty, also known as Labia Reduction.Labioplasty involves the surgical reduction of the labia majora (the lips on both sides of the vulva) and or labia minora (the lips at the entrance of the vagina) of the female external/internal genitalia.
Labioplasty is ideal for those women uncomfortable with the appearance of their genitalia. With age, childbirth, or trauma to the area, the skin of the labia can stretch, making it so long that it hangs exposed. Enlarged vaginal lips (hypertrophy) can also be genetic.
Whilst often considered a variation of normal, enlarged labia may cause discomfort and prevent women from wearing certain clothes, such as tight shorts and pants. Tenderness and irritation of the labia from constant contact or friction can also be a source of remarkable discomfort, making biking, exercising and even sexual intercourse unpleasurable for women.
Undergoing labioplasty can improve a woman’s self esteem and general happiness by reducing the size of the labia so that there is no visible protrusion of the labia . Removing excess skin from the vaginal lips and labia will expose parts of the genitalia that are responsive to sexual activity, increasing the chance of sexual gratification.
The surgical incisions are placed in lines that heal into scars, they will remain hidden in these folds to create an appealing appearance that enhances the natural contours of the genitalia.
Many procedures can be performed as day case surgery and you may choose local or general anesthetic.
Postoperatively regular bathing measures may be resumed the same day. Vaginal activity is restricted for 2-4 weeks.
Footnote:Labioplasty is called ‘Designer Vagina” in some circles but it should be noted that there is no surgery to the actual vaginal vault.
