Cosmetic surgery study
Scientists at UCLA ( University of California, LA) have found that large numbers of people have considered having plastic surgery. According to the study, 23 percent of men and 48 percent of women said they would be interested in cosmetic surgery. Another 23 percent of women and 17 percent of men said they would possibly be interested.
David Frederick, a graduate student of Psychology at UCLA and lead author of the study said that “Interest in cosmetic surgery is far more widespread that we had anticipated.”
Fifty-two thousand persons, aged 18 to 65 were polled in an online survey conducted by MSNBC and Elle.com in 2003.
The result of the study was published in the October issue of the Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
